Q.
How long will my ice sculpture last?
A.
Most sculptures will last from 4 to 6 hours, however there are a lot of
variables that factor into the melting of ice sculptures. The size of the
sculpture, the detail of the sculpture, the temperature of the room and
sunlight are some of them. At normal room temperature ice melts about ¼
inch per hour. In other words it would take more than two days for a ten-inch
thick sculpture to melt completely!
Q. What
are the prices of ice sculptures?
A.
As a rule of thumb we start our basic single block ice carvings at $250.00.
Adding to the complexity of a design or including a snow pack logo may
increase the price. We will adjust our prices for multiple sculptures.
This would certainly be the case with centerpieces.
Q. Are the
sculptures molded?
A.
The vast majority of our sculptures are carved out of 300 lb blocks of
crystal clear ice. We can combine blocks to make larger sculptures or cut
smaller pieces from the block. We have however retained the use of a mold
for our punch bowls.
Q. Are your
ice sculptures produced with a machine?
A.
No. Modern day ice carving has increasingly utilized technology to improve
on the efficient and accurate duplication of ice sculptures. While our
carvings may take a little longer to create, each one of them is precise
but unique. Our desire is to preserve quality through that personal touch
as long as we are able to service the market in this manner. |
