Ice Decor was conceived as a home based business operated by Harold and Valerie Sawatzky in British Columbia's Lower Mainland. Inspired by a carving presentation on a cruise line, their initial plan was to become block ice suppliers. This vision expanded quickly however as they recognized the scarcity of affordable ice as a creative means of decorating and enhancing everyday special events.
 

Ice Decor is a relatively young business but utilizes the same skill, expertise and technology employed by the ice sculpting craft over centuries. Having begun with ice molds they quickly realized the demand for more unique and designer specific carvings. As such, each ice sculpture gets carved from a 300 pound block of crystal clear ice produced at our own premises. Sculptures can be inspired by a photograph or result from your own imagination and creative ideas. In some cases detailed drawings will further enhance the design and ensure that the idea can be produced in ice. Once conceived, the particular design is then personally crafted by means of power tools and hand chisels. Ice Decor makes an effort to give each carving that special touch that can only be done by the human hand.

Since they take such pride in each unique ice sculpture it would only seem natural that Ice Decor delivers and sets up each display personally. Most locations throughout the Lower Mainland of British Columbia and Northern Washington are within driving distance.
